NEC ECC: Failure by Contractor to notify a Compensation Event

In a Design & Build contract, the Works Information is changed following discussions between the Contractor and Designer which results in work being deleted.

If the Contractor does not notify a Compensation Event then as I see it, the only recourse is for the Supervisor to notify a defect.

Is this correct or can the PM inform the Contractor that he needs to notify a CE or can the PM notify?

The Project Manager would have had to give an instruction to change the Works Information - which they can then notify a compensation event under 60.1(1). The Contractor can’t change the Works Information themselves.
