Can the Supervisor be named as a company in the Contract Data Part 1? and later on this company appoints a person in house to do a certain action such as inspecting retaining walls?
In theory there is nothing to prevent a company being named as a Supervisor, as the Client and Contractor are usually named as such. The issue, however, is that a ‘company’ is a legal entity and cannot perform this role in itself so requires a person(s) with authority to act on behalf of that company to sensibly perform the role. I would suggest getting a formal letter from an ‘authority’ within the company stating that the named person has authority to act on the company’s behalf on this matter (act as Supervisor).
