Hi, we asked a Contractor to expedite delivery of a substantial item due to late design sign off - the item was coming from abroad. Costs associated with this would ordinarily be paid by us, naturally, but in this instance they booked haulage on the day of departure as they said this was standard procedure but due to there being an event in the local area flights were delayed leaving, incurred several delays coming through customs as a result and then we lost transit in another country and we got the item signifcantly later than promised.
in this instance who bears the cost when delays were due to the haulage company?
Please can you clarify a couple of points: (1) which main Option is being used, (2) are you the PM, and (3) who’s fault was the late design sign-off?
