With regards to JCT Standard Building Contract 2009, if an architect submits an instruction after the scheduled completion date, is the contractor entitled to an extension, and if so for how long?

Legal precedent on this matter has suggested that contractors are entitled to an extension, and that when such an extension is granted, the architect involved should make an estimation of the requisite period to complete the work involved, and add this on to the completion date.
