What is the main function of the Project Manager?

The Project Manager manages the contract on behalf of the Employer and almost all dealings with the Contractor are handled by the Project Manager. The Project Manager consults with the Employer when deciding possible actions or making decisions which affect the outcome of the project; e.g. the Project Manager has authority to request an acceleration but would usually consult with the Employer. The Project Manager also advises the Employer on matters such as quotations for compensation events.
