The subcontract is setup on NEC Option B, and the activity schedule is a BoQ which makes up the contract sum. The rates include the subcontractor ohp’s. Can the subcontractor use the same rates when costing a CE?
So basically if we are having 10m additional wall type 1, they apply for 10m @ the rate stated in the BoQ for wall type 1. They are also trying to claim additional prelims for this too, even though they are able to complete additional wall within original resources.
How should they price this? Breakdown material and labour plant (provide invoices?)
if it is an Option B then there is no Activity Schedule, there is a BoQ.
The BoQ rates can be used to assess a CE by agreement. If there is no such agreement the default is Defined Cost + fee which would be based on the change in Defined Cost due to the CE using the Shorter Schedule of Cost Components.
Dave, I’d be interested in hearing your opinion on whether additional prelims can be claimed ‘even though they are able to complete additional wall within original resources.’
