Inflation in Contracts that are in delay without X1

NEC otion A:- We have a contract without X1 that has had significant delays. This has meant that materials and labour are now much more expensive than they would have been if the project had proceeded as originally planned and finished 2 years ago. Can I claim an increase to materials and labour as part of the delay claim compensation event? How about a change to the schedule of rates for the pricing of future events?

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Tom,

The short answer to your question is that if you have been delayed then increased costs can be claimed. Option Z1 applies where there is a change in the RPI and no delays. Please see the shorter schedule of cost components. Regards
