Why should the Contractor submit revised programmes?
The most obvious reasons to submit a revised programme is that the contract obliges the Contractor to submit revised programmes under Clause 32.1 for four reasons! The lack of a current programme is also likely to impact on the successful delivering the works. Furthermore it will also be to his detriment if a compensation event occurs since the Project Manager may assess it based on his own judgement (Clause 64.2). It is, therefore, in the Contractor’s interests to keep the programme maintained inline with the requirements of the contract (section 3 of the contract and in particular Clauses 31.2 and 32.1).
