Under NEC4 Option C. What is the best way to calculate a company car within the SOCC. If a car has a £40k list price, how would this be built in to a defined cost?
@WilliamBrown can you help with this query?
Hi Deb, a different Brown again.
Under the SCC of NEC4 the cost of a vehicle provided to a direct employee of the Contractor in accordance with their employment contract is included in the Defined Cost of people under SCC1 13(n).
The SCC does not prescribe how the cost is arrived at or shown, component 13 states that “payments made in relation to people in accordance with their employment contract” - so it is up to the Contractor to demonstrate what the payment is and how it is incurred, i.e. do they lease the vehicle?
Happy to discuss.
@stevebrownassociates thanks for the response
Steve thanks for the response. Yes I am including under SOCC. The cars are purchased and not leased so is it the cost of the car split over say 4 years. It does have personal use so assuming that will need to be taken into account
Hi WS, I think would ask the Contractor’s accounts department how they allocate the cost and ask them to demonstrate it with records and accounts under 52.2.
