Architects are entitled to claim fees on a time basis should they deal with any extraneous work, as long as the claim doesn’t arrive due to some form of negligence or a breach of the engagement by the architect. Architects claiming additional fees should notify clients as soon as possible, and keep an accurate timesheet of the extra time that (s)he has incurred.
