A building owner has proposed changes to a planned building that an architect knows would be refused by a Planning Department. Should the architect continue with the drawings and fulfil the contract?

In such a circumstance it would be the architect’s duty to inform the building owner that their proposal is unlawful. To do otherwise would be contrary to the architect’s Code of Conduct and could have serious repercussions for all parties involved.
