Procurement: Which social issues can be included in the public procurement process?

There is no explicit list contained within existing legislation with regards to what social issues can or cannot be included within the procurement process. However, issues currently being assessed by governments with regard to public procurement include the following: race, gender and disability equality; fair trade; supported factories and businesses; employment and training issues and help for ethnic, women’s and disabled-owned businesses.
