What happens if the Project Manager rejects a compensation event quotation issued by the Contractor. Is the Contractor forced to accept the Projects Managers assessment of the compensation event or can any differences of opinion be negotiated out ?
Once the PM has not accepted the CE and made a PM’s assessment of the cost and time the CE is implemented in terms of the effects and and is not revised except in the limited circumstances stated in the contract at clause 65.2 (NEC3) or clause 66.3 (NEC4). If you disagree with the PM’s assessment the Contractor’s main recourse is formal dispute resolution.
