Procurement: What is the British government's policy with regard to timber procurement?

Currently the Whitehall government recommends its departments and agencies to actively seek to purchase sustainable and, of course, legally sourced timber and other wood-derived products. This has been a mandatory requirement since 1st April, 2009.
