# With regard to Building Regulations, how are robust details approved?

There are three criteria under which robust details must be approved before they are allowable:

```
	the condition of the construction must exceed the performance standards that are explicitly given in Approved Document E of the Building Regulations;

	they must be considered practically constructible by someone on site;

	they must be 'reasonably tolerant' to workmanship.
```
