Under NEC3 Supply contract there is no SOCC. I know this has been added in NEC4 and seems to simply ask for People Rates without a breakdown of what is included. For NEC3 how are the defined costs rates built up? There is no mention of this so is it the same as an ECC contract with the People section in the SOCC?

I think in theory ‘Yes’ but, apart from clause 52.1, there is no definition or guidance from the contract on how Defined Costs - whether for people, Equipment, Plant and Materials or transport - are built up and hence there is a lot more subjectivity which gives scope for argument.

Jon thanks for confirming my confusion. Seems to be on the rise the supply contract but used in the wrong situation.
