on a jct design and build contract, what happens if the works on site are to be delayed due to incorrect installation of foundation slabs by specialist sub contractor would the main contractor be liable or able to request extension of time does the client get compensation essentially how is delays and defects in construction work on a db11 contract get resolved

If the subcontractor is a domestic one (so not nominated or under the control of the Employer) the Contractor will not be entitled to an EOT as a subcontractor will be treated as the Contractor in the main contract.
