NEC Contract ECC Option C - Subcontractor acceptance

ECC3 Option C - once the PM has accepted a Subcontract, is there any further obligation on the Contractor to notify should he wish to accept a subcontractor’s quotation for a compensation event (incorporating additional work to provide the WI)

In very simple terms - no.

However, the Contractor is incentivised to establish the best price possible for a compensation event. The Project Manager can assess a compensation event himself if he does no t believe that the defined cost is at open market/competitive prices. This could mean that the event could be implemented at a lower figure than the Contractor has agreed with his subcontractor.

But back to your original question there is no obligation other than to have the original subcontractor accepted, and their contractual terms if it is not an NEC contract that they have been procured under.
