What happens when provisional sum is stated in contract sum analysis; but not defined in the Articles.

Especially as the JCT DB 2016 is a fixed price lump sum contract and the Employer does not have authority to reduce the contract sum analysis; only the ER’s

Surely the Prov Sums should be defied within the Articles as a separate schedule of items

Provisional sums are stated in the Contract Bill/Specification/Work Schedule/Employer’s Requirements depending on which version of JCT. They are not stated in the Articles or the Contract Sum Analysis. If the Provisional Sums are stated anywhere other than those documents then they’ll have no effect.
