It it possible to shorten the period for reply when an urgent situation arises?
What course of action is there when a consultant simply says "I have two weeks" within Contract Data.

The timescales in the contract are the maximum that should be taken. You would like to think if you explain why you need an answer quicker, in the spirit of the contract they would and especially if it is in their or the project interest to do so. However, no way to force this mid-contract. Contractually they have the timescale stated in the contract.
