Are there exemptions to the Construction (Head Protection) Regulations 1989 for specific religious groups?

Section 11(1) of the Employment Act 1989 exempts turban-wearing Sikhs from any legal requirement to wear a safety helmet while on a construction site. This exemption does not apply in workplaces other than construction sites. Further information can be found at Appendix 4 of HSE’s free guidance on the Regulations.

There are no such exemptions for other religious groups.
