JCT: Preparing the contract for signature

When preparing the JCT to be sent out for signature, we have crossed through certain sections that are not applicable. Do these need to be initialed by both parties, or will the signature in the Execution under hand be OK? thanks

My manager said he used to get this done a while ago, but I was not sure if this is still the requirement now.

if you make handwritten changes to a contract then those who have the authority to sign the contract should also initial as close as possible to the place where the changes are made.

If both people who sign the contract don’t also initial each change, questions might arise as to whether the change was part of the agreement.
