NEC3 ECC: Use of secondary option X12 Partnering

When would one use a partnering X12 clause in ECC main option B?

Option X12 is used for partnering between more than two parties working on the same project or programme. It is not for use between the two usual contracting Parties to a contract.

In entering into Option X12 the Parties are entering into additional responsibilities. It does not create a multi party contract.

You are looking at situations whereby you wish to create a working environment and incentives for multi parties to work together e.g. sharing offices, use of common information systems, value engineering, etc
